Dialer Setup

 

Find My Computer on your Desktop and Open it by Double-clicking
 the left mouse button

 

From My Computer, Open Dial-Up Networking by Double-clicking
 the left mouse button.

 

Double-click (left mouse) on Make New Connection

 

Type a name for the icon and make sure your modem is shown in the
 Select a device box.

 

Type the area code and phone number of your local access number
 in the appropriate spaces.

 

Select Finish to confirm the entries.

 

Right-click (single-click right mouse button) on the new dialer icon and (left-click)
 Select Create Shortcut

 

Answer Yes to the following question

 

Right-click (single-click right mouse button) on the new dialer icon and (left-click)
 Select Properties

 

In the Server Types tab, Un-check Log on to network, Un-check NetBEUI,
 and Un-check IPX/SPX Compatible, then Select the TCP/IP Settings button

 

Select Server assigned IP address and Server assigned name server addresses and Un-check Use IP Header Compression. Then Select OK, then OK again

 

Open your new dialer shortcut (double-click left mouse button) and fill in the
 User name and Password with your supplied Dial-up User name and Password.
Check the Save password box if you don’t want to be prompted for it each time.
